There's a war raging within us...
There has been a war within each of us since the beginning of time.
On one side, we have our desire to stay safe, avoid risks, to fight, flight or freeze, and to compare ourselves against others. I call this our "Dragon" because it stems from our reptilian brain. This is a very old part of us, and instinctively we lean towards it. But it does not serve us.
Because warring against these urges is our inner Greatest of All Time - our GOAT. It's the part of us that believes in our abilities, and strives to do what we love, with whom we love, scaling our unique talents, and finding pure, unmitigated happiness.
The Dragon believes these things are risky and strives to push them down, but the GOAT, if properly tended to, can win against the Dragon.
